We have resumed Sunday School classes at the Escondido URC. There are two sessions in this post.
The first link below is a talk on "Human Sexuality and our Identity" that Chris Gordon taught as a substitute for Dr. Godfrey. In this session, Pastor Gordon addresses the sexual revolution and the way our culture is offering different identities contrary to God's creational norms in the pursuit of finding happiness. This talk wrestles through the issue of human desire, and is especially aimed at helping young people to find value in God's good creation and the new identity that we have in Christ.
In this next session, Dr. Godfrey continues to think through the dominant worldview of Christendom that God has spoken to us, and the shifts that elevated man's voice over God's with the goal of seeing the world and creation as something that serves people in their pursuit to determine their own reality in the pursuit of happiness.
